Cellulose Insulation

Cellulose insulation is constructed of high-quality and energy-efficient fiber made from recycled paper—usually up to 85 percent newspaper, sometimes with cardboard and other types of paper added.

These small pieces of paper work well, because they can be densely packed to prevent airflow, as opposed to batt insulation with seams that can leak air. The paper pieces are also treated to make them fire retardant, so no need to be concerned about their paper construction.

Our professionals install this type of insulation with a blowing machine, which is why it’s known as blown-in insulation. We generally install loose-fill cellulose in attics and dense-packed in walls and ceilings. The R-value (insulation rating system) for cellulose is identical to fiberglass and in many cases even higher.

“After the phenomenal job Comfort Services did replacing my second floor HVAC, I decided to have them seal my attic leaks, spray in insulation, and build a catwalk for easier access in the future. What a joy it was to work them. Lisa was always pleasant to speak with on the phone. She was professional and timely in relaying the request to Reedie. Reedie came over, did a very thorough inspection of the house and attic and made recommendations. Once again, there was no pressure on which option to purchase. He is a straight shooter and I trusted him. I went with the option that would work very well and was not the most expensive option. Once again, it is important to note that I never felt pushed or pressured to make a specific choice. We then had Austin and Caleb arrive at the house and begin the process of removing the old insulation, sealing all the air leaks in the attic, building the cat walk so I could move around easily, and then blow in the insulation. I am thoroughly impressed by their demeanor, timeliness, professionalism, and attention to detail. Every day they returned to continue work, we talked before I left for work. The told me exactly what the plan was for that day. I never felt any sense of unease by having them work in the house while my family was home. The smiles on their faces, their jovial attitudes, and the stalwart industry make them showcase employees. Everyday the jobsite was clean and I was briefed on what was completed. Most days I went up in the attic and they pointed out the particular areas that required attention. I could not be happier. When all was done, Reedie returned, inspected the work (which was made easy with the addition of the cat walk), and then reviewed the paperwork.
